don't fear the dark

I brewed the stout today and it is tucked away in the primary. This smells like a very flavorful brew!

Bob goes stout

Okay i'm going to do it....i'm brewing a stout this weekend. I brewed a cream stout once many moons ago and felt it wasn't my "cup of tea" but I think my love for the dark and flavorful beer has grown. Bring on the stout!

Nut Brown bottled

I bottled the Nut Brown today and came up with only 44 bottles. I figure I lost beer due to the fact that I had quite a bit of sediment in the primary from not using a hop bag. We'll see how the hop taste is compared to the usual bagged hops.

mini kegs a hit

The Kölsch went over well at our recent wedding celebration. Somewhere in the area of 30 to 40 people showed up at our house for the pre-wedding reception to share the brisket and homebrew. A heaping mound of brisket and 4 gallons of Honey Kölsch was consumed in a little more than an hour and one half before the party broke up and shifted to the Holiday Inn. More brisket and the remaining gallon of Kölsch was devoured after the reception. Thanks to all that showed up and my condolences to those who couldn't make it.
