must get brewin'

the last two weekends have brought friends and family over for cookouts and plenty of delicious ribs and suds have been consumed. The Irish Draught and the British bitter both turned out great with good, crisp flavor and just enough carbonation. I'm thinking that I better get busy with brewing or I'll run out ad be forced to go to a liquor store again. I'm looking to try a Fat Tire clone, nut brown ale, and maybe a half batch of cream stout this next go-round. Sounds yummy eh?

beer out the wazz!

It was a monumental day for bottling today as both the British Bitter and the Irish Draught were tucked away in bottles for the 3 week conditioning period. In order to get a better seal on the caps I ordered a bench capper from Northern Brewer on Sunday and it arrived just in time. I came up with 51 bottles of the draught but only 50 bottles of bitter due to Nancy's "baptism in beer". The dousing came while I was holding the bottling bucket overhead attempting to coax the last of the brew through the spout....I guess I tilted the bucket too much.
